    Aplicação da metodologia 5S em gestão de estoques para melhoria e controle de suprimentos: estudo de caso em uma distribuidora de material de limpeza em Ananindeua – PA

    This case study seeks to analyze the effects of implementing the 5S methodology in a small distributor of cleaning products, located in Belém - PA, in order to reduce the problems found in the control stocks. The assumption is that the application of this methodology can optimize storage, avoid waste of time, raw materials and financial resources, which would increase the profitability of the company. The 5S methodology is based on five steps to improve the functioning of a company: sort, set in order, shine, standardize, and sustain. Nowadays, this methodology has been well disseminated in the market and has demonstrated to be a reliable option for organizational problems, especially in sectors such as warehouses. The research was conducted with the participation of the company's employees, and it had a total duration of five months. As means of data collection, the following resources were used: interviews, observation, on-site visits, and a form created for the follow-up of the proposed activities. After the implementation, it was possible to observe the team's acceptance to perform the new actions; the gain of space, due to the organization of the material; improvement in cleaning; less product losses, due to damage or expiration date; and less time spent searching for the items. In summary, the listed results indicate that the 5S Methodology configures itself as an efficient alternative to mitigate problems such as those faced by the company analyzed.

    Aumento do índice de disponibilidade da frota de máquinas de uma empresa do setor logístico através da aplicação de métodos de engenharia de manutenção

    The search to improve the performance of internal processes and management indicators is directly associated to customer satisfaction and the company's financial success. Being an outsourced company, these charges are even higher, especially when the production chain where the organization is inserted moves great financial values and demands high operational quality, such as aluminum production. Among several methods for improvement, the Six Sigma philosophy proposes that excellence will never be achieved, as there are always opportunities for improvement, but that optimization should be pursued until the results achieved are acceptable. The study of this work is based on the search to improve the machine fleet performance of the studied company starting from the application of the method used in Six Sigma projects, the DMAIC methodology. The application of the five steps of the methodology allowed to identify the problem related to the maintenance sector and the machine fleet availability indicator that showed the 55% metric, which generates contractual billing losses. The purpose of the study is to optimize it to achieve financial gains, operational reliability and improved customer satisfaction. By measuring data and using quality tools it was possible to analyze which machines and which factors produced undesirable results, thus facilitating decision making to solve the problem. That way, the application of the methodology allowed to reach and exceed the goal, initially proposed to increase to 80% the machine fleet availability indicator. Comparing with the revenue that would be obtained with the indicator prior to the study, the financial benefits represented an economic gain of R $ 2,009,002.20 in the seven months of the study.

    Estudo da viabilidade econômico-financeira para a implantação de um terminal logístico no município de Barcarena – PA (etapa 1)

    The Planning of a new venture greatly increases the entrepreneur's chances of success as the market is increasingly competitive and imposing risks and difficulties on new projects. This paper presents the study about the economic and financial viability for the implantation of a gas station, inside a logistic terminal, in the city of Barcarena - PA. The literature review of the methods related to Economic Engineering provided the basis for the project development. The goal of this study is to demonstrate the viability of the project through the use of financial indicators, within three scenarios, the realistic, the pessimistic and the optimistic. From the information provided by the project manager, the financial indicators were applied in order to obtain a specific result for each one of them. After this, the analysis of the scenarios was made, these were designed according to forecasts of possible change in the local market. Finally, after applying the financial indicators, it was concluded that the project proved viable in all three scenarios, showing a high profitability for entrepreneurs.

    A importância do planejamento e controle da produção: estudo de caso em uma indústria de açaí

    The companies are inserted in a highly competitive and volatile market, and in order to establish themselves and obtain a competitive advantage over competitors, they must to take advantage of modern management tools that allow decision-making to be strategic and beneficial to their operations. Therefore, Production Planning and Control is an important tool to support business decision-making. Through a case study in an açaí processing company located in the city of Castanhal-PA, the study aimed to demonstrate the importance and benefits of applying the techniques and tools of Planning and Production Control (PCP) in the studied company. It was concluded that through the use of information from the PCP and the results of the case sudy, the company made the correct decisions in relation to the investments made during the years of operation, as well as reaching an excellent percentage of productive efficiency.
