Item Restabelecimento da dimensão vertical de oclusão em paciente com overbite acentuado: relato de caso(Centro Universitário do Estado do Pará, 2019) Saraiva, Edimara da Costa; Nascimento, Francisca Sarah Moreira; Corrêa, Davi Lavareda; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1363928397942822Objective: To report a case of oral rehabilitation of a patient with severe loss of vertical dimension of occlusion caused by posterior dental element loss. Case report: A 62-year-old female patient presented to the clinic of the University Center of the State of Pará (CESUPA). The patient reported dissatisfaction with her smile. Clinical examination showed marked midline diastema and alteration of the vertical dimension of occlusion caused by the absence of posterior dental elements. Conclusion: This report illustrates another case of oral rehabilitation in which it was possible to increase the patient’s vertical dimension of occlusion, through semi adjustable articulator with intra oral registration protruding the jaw, bringing facial harmony, aesthetics, and chewing function.Item Abordagem estética integrada das más oclusões a partir da ortodontia digital: relato de caso(Centro Universitário do Estado do Pará, 2019) Campos, Luís Paulo Almeida; Santos, Nayara Cardoso; Pinheiro Júnior, Jesus Maués; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0590122765693339Dental anomalies are a frequent condition in dentistry. When these malformations are associated with altered dental positioning, they affect aesthetics and function, necessitating an integrated approach between orthodontics and restorative dentistry. In this sense, the present study seeks to report the clinical case of an adolescent patient with malformation in the crown of the upper lateral incisors, diastema in the upper arch and facial growth pattern II, with Class II malocclusion. After evaluation of the clinical condition of the patient, it was verified that a satisfactory outcome of the clinical case would not be obtained if the restorative dentistry procedures were performed alone, as well as those of orthodontics alone. The leveling and alignment of the upper and lower arches was initially planned, using fixed apparatus in the straight arch technique; after the redistribution of spaces, the orthodontic appliance was removed and the patient was referred to perform the restorative procedures. After the clinical intervention, a satisfactory result was obtained for patients and professionals, being made possible by the integration between orthodontics and dentistry. The orthodontics associated to a digital tool can aid in the aesthetic rehabilitation of a patient with dental anomaly in a fast, precise and practical way.Item Abordagem odontológica em mulheres vítimas de violência doméstica: uma revisão de literatura(Centro Universitário do Estado do Pará, 2019-06-03) Martins, Carolina Vitória de Souza; Moreira Júnior, Mário Tavares; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7567611710717172; Miranda, Dóris Kós Burlamaqui de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1848188497171812; Silva, Clélia Alice Tourinho de Melo e; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2300027513439562Violence against women has serious impacts on the quality of life of these patients, due to physical injuries, besides the psychic and social repercussions. With the purpose of repressing these cases and acting on the violence practiced against the woman that arises the Maria da Penha Law (Law 11.340 / 06). A literature review was conducted to evaluate the knowledge and positioning of dental surgeons in these cases and to analyze how the dental class has behaved in the face of domestic violence in women. It was observed that the CD does indeed act in front of these events, needing to seek more knowledge about the legal issues of the exercise of its profession going beyond the code of odontological ethics, since there are deeper spheres in the Brazilian justice that regulate the actions of the dental surgeons in these cases. The subject covered in this study still presents a lack of data, further research on the subject is required. However, despite the lack of some information and observed that the available literature promotes a good initial foundation on which professional needs to know, although there is disinterest on the part of the category.Item Tratamento da má oclusão de classe II divisão 1 em duas fases utilizando splint maxilar e aparelho autoligado(Centro Universitário do Estado do Pará, 2019-06-04) Rocha, Amanda Cruz; Pinheiro Júnior, Jesus Maués; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0590122765693339; Penin, Thaís Buenaño; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9954742909174950; Gonçalves, Carlos Alberto; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2412791031421616To carry out a review of the literature on the treatment of Pattern II by maxillary protrusion and Class II, Division 1 malocclusion and its different possibilities of approaches, and present a case report in two phases. The databases BIREME, Google Academic and Pubmed were used to obtain articles in English and Portuguese. For the search strategy we used the terms Boolean AND, AND NOT and OR to order the key words and delimit the object of study. It has been verified in the literature that the two-stage treatment can be performed using the "Maxillary splint" device in the mixed dentition, to approach the maxillary protrusion and in the sequence in the young permanent denture period the fixed self-ligating device for the refinement of static and functional occlusion. The approach of Class II malocclusion in Pattern II by maxillary protrusion can be performed in two phases, a fact corroborated by the successful treatment performed and by the literature evaluated in this study.
