Item Abordagem estética integrada das más oclusões a partir da ortodontia digital: relato de caso(Centro Universitário do Estado do Pará, 2019) Campos, Luís Paulo Almeida; Santos, Nayara Cardoso; Pinheiro Júnior, Jesus Maués; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0590122765693339Dental anomalies are a frequent condition in dentistry. When these malformations are associated with altered dental positioning, they affect aesthetics and function, necessitating an integrated approach between orthodontics and restorative dentistry. In this sense, the present study seeks to report the clinical case of an adolescent patient with malformation in the crown of the upper lateral incisors, diastema in the upper arch and facial growth pattern II, with Class II malocclusion. After evaluation of the clinical condition of the patient, it was verified that a satisfactory outcome of the clinical case would not be obtained if the restorative dentistry procedures were performed alone, as well as those of orthodontics alone. The leveling and alignment of the upper and lower arches was initially planned, using fixed apparatus in the straight arch technique; after the redistribution of spaces, the orthodontic appliance was removed and the patient was referred to perform the restorative procedures. After the clinical intervention, a satisfactory result was obtained for patients and professionals, being made possible by the integration between orthodontics and dentistry. The orthodontics associated to a digital tool can aid in the aesthetic rehabilitation of a patient with dental anomaly in a fast, precise and practical way.Item Tratamento da má oclusão de classe II divisão 1 em duas fases utilizando splint maxilar e aparelho autoligado(Centro Universitário do Estado do Pará, 2019-06-04) Rocha, Amanda Cruz; Pinheiro Júnior, Jesus Maués; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0590122765693339; Penin, Thaís Buenaño; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9954742909174950; Gonçalves, Carlos Alberto; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2412791031421616To carry out a review of the literature on the treatment of Pattern II by maxillary protrusion and Class II, Division 1 malocclusion and its different possibilities of approaches, and present a case report in two phases. The databases BIREME, Google Academic and Pubmed were used to obtain articles in English and Portuguese. For the search strategy we used the terms Boolean AND, AND NOT and OR to order the key words and delimit the object of study. It has been verified in the literature that the two-stage treatment can be performed using the "Maxillary splint" device in the mixed dentition, to approach the maxillary protrusion and in the sequence in the young permanent denture period the fixed self-ligating device for the refinement of static and functional occlusion. The approach of Class II malocclusion in Pattern II by maxillary protrusion can be performed in two phases, a fact corroborated by the successful treatment performed and by the literature evaluated in this study.
