Design e direito: como podemos utilizar o visual law para promover um maior acesso à justiça aos assistidos da defensoria pública do estado do Pará?

Abstract

The present work aims to analyze visual law as a tool enable to democratize the access to justice and how this methodology can be applied in a Public Defender Office’s daily routine in Pará, to assure that assisted people of that institution have great access to a fair lawful order. With the purpose of answering this question, a bibliography review was made, including books and articles, as well as the analysis of IBGE data about Brazilian population. In the development, the research was structured, firstly, in the analysis of evolution in the law, to understand how the using of technologies favored this branch. In sequence, a study was carried out on the concepts Design Thinking, Legal Design and Visual Law , in order to understand the latter. Afterwards, a survey was carried out on the right to access to justice and the obstacles to its materialization. Subsequently, the Public Defender's Office was analyzed as an institution that guarantees legal assistance to the underprivileged population. Finally, a critical analysis was carried out regarding the use of visual law in legal documents of the DPE/PA, as a way to democratize the access to justice and facilitating the assistance to their target audience.
