Item Composição corporal de atletas de kendo: uma revisão integrativa da literatura(Centro Universitário do Estado do Pará, 2024-06-12) Lima Filho, Cláudio Márcio Ramos; Santos, Leonardo Damasceno dos; Ribeiro, Joseana Moreira Assis; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5745114474901440; Ozela, Cilea Maria dos Santos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3869556585803094; Gaspar, Daniela Pinheiro; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9245835771527449Kendo, a martial art that incorporates ethical and philosophical values, extends beyond combat technique to promote self-discipline and personal excellence. Achieving superior performance requires practitioner to develop specific motor skills, where nutrition and hydration play crucial roles. Understanding appropriate hydration strategies and a suitable nutritional regimen, aligned with body composition, is fundamental for the performance and health of practitioners. Objective: Tuo understand, through an integrative literature review, the relationship between body composition, hydration and athletic performance in the specific context of Kendo, aiming to provide insights that can optimize both training and the health of practitioners, Materials and Methods: An interactive literature review was condueted, with article searches in PubMed, Virtual Health Library (BVS), and Scielo, covering the period from 2010 to 2024, in Portuguese, English, and Spanish. Results: Data analysis allowed the selection of five articles that fell into two categories: those that examined the body composition of Kendo athletes and those that evaluated the hydration of these athletes. Final Considerations: This study highlights the importance and complexity of factors such as hydration, nutrition, and body composition, which are essential for athletic performance, physical development, muscle strength, as well as the health and quality of life of Kendo practitioners. It underscores the need for an integrated approach that considers body composition, aligned with nutrition and hydration practices, to maximize the performance and health of Kendo practitioners.Item Efeitos da imersão em água fria no desempenho físico e funcional de atletas amadores de judô(Centro Universitário do Estado do Pará, 2025-12-09) Silva, Vinícius Queiroz; Maia, Murilo Tuma Martins; Rodrigues Filho, Milton Carlos Grandidier; Pereira, Raphael do Nascimento; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4495343513171099; Lopes, Geovanna Lemos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8531597692485679; Santos, Michel Sena Uchoa; https://lattes.cnpq.br/0128899084532881Cold-water immersion (CWI) is widely used as a recovery strategy in sports; however, evidence supporting its effectiveness in amateur athletes remains limited. Therefore, the aim of this study was to examine the acute effects of CWI on the physical performance of amateur judo athletes. Nine practitioners aged 15 to 45 years were evaluated and underwent the Special Judo Fitness Test (SJFT) before and after two recovery conditions: CWI (10–15 °C for 10 minutes) and passive recovery (PR) of equal duration. Data on the number of throws and heart rate at each testing moment were collected to calculate the Fitness Index (FI), using equations proposed by the developers of the assessment protocol. No statistically significant differences were observed between the conditions for FI or total number of throws (p > 0.05), indicating that CWI did not produce measurable changes in the athletes’ acute performance. It should be noted, however, that the low technical ranking of most participants and the small sample size may have influenced the outcomes. In conclusion, under the conditions evaluated, CWI did not demonstrate a superior effect compared with passive recovery. Nevertheless, further research with larger samples and athletes of different technical levels is recommended to broaden the understanding of this method’s effectiveness in judo.
