The objective of this work is to propose solutions in the production chain of açaí pulp with the aid of the planning stage of the PDCA cycle. For this, the methodology was executed with the aid of quality tools aligned in four substeps: identification of the problem, in which interviews and data collection were carried out, noting that the main problem that affects the quality of the final product is the rate of returns due to quality problems; in phenomenon analysis, benchmarking was carried out with a competing company. Based on the data collected, it was found that the main products that presented the highest rates of returns due to quality problems were the popular açaí and medium açaí, indicating that the main reasons for discards were: excess of sludge and solid content. After that, the goals were defined based on the gaps found; analysis of causes, which sought to identify the root causes of the quality problems encountered; and finally, the plan of action was elaborated, aiming to propose actions for each root cause found.Item Redução de custos de devolução: um estudo de caso em um centro de distribuição(Centro Universitário do Estado do Pará, 2017-12-14) Macêdo, Alex William Monteiro; Cintra, Rodrigo Augusto de Miranda; Ferreira, Marcelo Leopoldo Sepeda; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4992513231589850; Freitas, Felipe Fonseca Tavares de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5523511253031983; Silva Júnior, Carlos Gilberto Vieira da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2738903947477853With the current dynamism in the competition and the constant presence of uncertainties in the Brazilian market, companies in the logistics sector as the distribution centers are increasingly seeking to develop to provide an even better delivery service to meet the increasing demands of the customer and thus avoiding significant losses due to discarding costs. Based on this, the maintenance of the activities of these companies depends heavily on the continuous search for the balance between cost reduction and customer service. Therefore, the main objective of this work is to propose measures for the improvement of its logistic performance through the application of quality tools, improvement methods (PDCA cycle) and performance indicators, firstly between January 2016 and October 2017 (totaling 22 months), in order to make a comparison between the indicators of the periods studied, which has the purpose of showing us the level of service offered by the company, from November 2016 to October 2017 (totaling 12 months), to calculate the gap (target), so that in the future can find possible causes of discards that will be deeply analyzed in order to propose actions to reduce or eliminate them.
