Resumo

Introduction: Organ and tissue transplantation is a surgical procedure defined by the replacement of a diseased organ with another healthy organ. Currently, Brazil is a world reference in transplants, however, there is a worrying incongruity with the reality of the country. There is a great asymmetry between the demand for organs for transplantation and the number of transplants performed. In addition, the North region also remains with a high disproportion in terms of supply and demand. Objective: Collect numerical data about organ donation and transplants in North region of Brazil. Method: This is a observational cross-sectional and analytical study, with data on organ transplants performed in the North. The research data will be the numbers made available by the Brazilian Organ Transplant Association (ABTO) through the Brazilian Transplant Registry (RBT). The data to be collected will refer to the period of 2015 to 2019, covering data from all Federative Units (UF) in the region. Results: There was a growing demand in the North, during the years analyzed. The state of Rondônia was positively highlighted. However, the supply of donations did not exceed demand in any regard. In addition, Amapá and Roraima remain without donation and transplantation programs. Conclusion: There was consonance between the literature and the data made available in the analyzed sources, which demonstrate disparities between the topics in question.
