Inclusão de pessoas com deficiência auditiva no ensino superior: em que medidas há incentivos do governo às instituições privadas?

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to analyze what governmental initiatives are, as well as the laws that support them, and how these initiatives have stimulated the entry and permanence of students with disabilities in higher education. The deaf community, the main focus of this study, represents the largest group of people with disabilities in higher education. Therefore, there is a need for advances in public policies and their implementation when it comes to the Law of Persons with Disabilities and the accessibility of people with disabilities in Education, especially in Higher Education. In the first section, it will be defined who the person with disabilities is in the light of the International Human Rights Treaties and Conventions, as well as the definition given by the 1988 Constitution and also in the light of the Statute of the Person with Disabilities. The second section will discuss the history of the deaf community in terms of education. The third section will deal with accessibility measures in the educational society. In sections 4 and 5, it will be presented the process of welcoming students with disabilities at the HEIs of the Federal University of Pará (UFPA) and the University Center of the State of Pará (CESUPA) in order to make an analysis between the respective institutions where it sought - answer what measures are there government incentives with respect to inclusive education for people with hearing impairment in private higher education ?. The methodology used consists of consultations with websites and journals and field research.
