Item Análise da tendência dos defeitos do fechamento do tubo neural em recém nascidos no estado do Pará antes e durante a pandemia(Centro Universitário do Estado do Pará, 2024-06-04) Souza, Camila Oliveira Ferreira de; Serique, Manuela Salame; Neves, Dilma Costa de Oliveira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7230812534416350The analysis of the profile of live births with neural tube closure defects is a crucial field of medical research, as these anomalies pose a significant challenge to public health worldwide, involving both clinical and epidemiological, genetic, and social aspects. Objective: to analyze the anomalies of neural tube defects in the specific context of the state of Pará from 2018 to 2021. Methodology: observational, descriptive, exploratory temporal ecological study conducted through queries to the Live Birth Information System (SINASC) database, made available to the public by the Department of Health Informatics of the Unified Health System (Datasus), carried out from August to October 2023. Results: most cases of anencephaly occur in preterm babies, highlighting the importance of monitoring prematurity when assessing certain anomalies. The impact of the pandemic on the prevention of neural congenital malformations is also noteworthy. Before this period, there was a downward trend in cases, but in 2020 there was an increase in the number of cases, possibly associated with the disruption of prenatal care due to lockdown restrictions. The increase in diagnoses in 2020, compared to 2021, suggests that difficulties in conducting consultations and prenatal monitoring resulted in a higher number of live births with neural tube defects. The association between the pandemic and the increase in malformations, especially unspecified congenital hydrocephalus, highlights the need for strategies to mitigate impacts on prevention practices during global health crises. The relationship between gestational age and the prevalence of anencephaly emphasizes the importance of considering gestational time when investigating specific malformations, highlighting a significant association with prematurity. Conclusion: adequate prenatal care is necessary, as well as public policies that promote appropriate monitoring from the early stages of gestation.Item Análise transversal da casuística atendida no serviço de neurologia do Centro de Especialidades Médicas do Centro Universitário do Estado do Pará entre os períodos de 2012 a 2015(Centro Universitário do Estado do Pará, 2021) Garcia, Mairan Paes; Reis, Matheus Dinelly Ribeiro dos; Teixeira, Cláudio Eduardo Corrêa; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7448998858430931Introduction: Neurological outpatient care is a reality of medical graduation, and aims at the diagnosis, guidance and resolubility therapy in Neurology, being part of the daily life of these patients with the most diverse diagnoses. Methodology: This study is characterized as observational, cross-sectional, exploratory of the series of patients seen at the Neurology outpatient clinic of the Centro de Especialidades Médicas do Cesupa (Cemec) of Centro Universitário do Estado do Pará (Cesupa). Data were collected from the medical records of outpatient consultations, and only those patients who had consultations in the period from 2012 to 2015 were included in the study. Objective: To carry out an exploratory survey of the sample of patients treated at the Neurology outpatient clinic of the Centro de Especialidades Médicas do Cesupa (CEMEC) of Centro Universitário do Estado do Pará (Cesupa). Results: The results show that there was a higher prevalence of patients who underwent few visits at the Neurology Outpatient Clinic. In addition, the most prevalent complaint was the symptom of headache, but the prevalence of patients with improvement of the neurological picture was also important. Conclusion: Finally, we have seen that the use of Artificial Intelligence methods can help reveal the prevalence of associations between symptoms and signs recorded in databases in need of data.Item Avaliação do conhecimento dos estudantes de medicina de uma instituição privada de ensino superior sobre a doença de Parkinson(Centro Universitário do Estado do Pará, 2019) Machado, Bárbara Melina Rodrigues; Lima, Elaine Fernandes Melo Ribeiro; Sefer, Celina Cláudia Israel; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0218316102057635Introduction: Parkinson's disease is among the main chronic and progressive neurodegenerative diseases affecting the nervous system and it is estimated that 1% of the population over 65 years of age is affected by this disease. In this way, it is essential to analyze the understanding that medical scholars have about the disease. Objective: To evaluate the knowledge of medical students from the 8th to the 11th semester of an institution of higher education on Parkinson's Disease. Methodology: Cross-sectional, analytical and descriptive study, using quantitative approach of questionnaire analysis applied to medical students distributed from the 8th to 11th period. After the data collection, the analysis was performed through the program Bioestat 5.0. Results: Most students (76.25%) had unsatisfactory levels of knowledge about the pathology. However, it was noted that the students have perception of the clinical picture, ease of diagnosis, as well as understanding about the pathophysiology of the disease and the initial treatment for the pathology. On the other hand, they have difficulty in monitoring, clinical segment of the patient and observation of side effects. Conclusion: The medical students participating in the study obtained a low level of knowledge about Parkinson's disease.
