This is an observational, cross-sectional, descriptive and analytical study, carried out in Belém do Pará - Brazil, at the Municipal Health Unit (UMS) in Marambaia. Data collection took place from August to October 2022, applying a research protocol with sociodemographic and clinical exposure variables, application of the lower limb function test, Romberg balance test and the Geriatric Locomotor Function Scale of 25 Items. 64 elderly people were studied, and 21.78% of the participants had LS, with a predominance of females. LS was associated with balance alteration, with a 16 times greater risk of LS observation in elderly people with static imbalance. The present study found a higher prevalence of LS in females and noted that the change in balance in the elderly showedan important relationship with the locomotor dysfunction studied.Item Relação dos domínios de atividade e participação da classificação internacional de funcionalidade, incapacidade e saúde com o índice de Pfeffer em idosos(Centro Universitário do Estado do Pará, 2021) Coutinho, Alessa Moura; Ferreira, Klicia do Nascimento; Ribeiro, Vinicius de França Silva; Rocha, Larissa Salgado de OliveiraTo connect the domains of Activity and Participation of the ICF with the Pfeffer Index to complement the assessment of the elderly. Study of technological proposal through the adaptation of the Pfeffer Index relating it to the domains of activity and participation of the ICF, developed in three stages: literature search, using the Scielo, Lilacs and Pubmed databases with studies involving the ICF and the Pfeffer Index, followed by the understanding of the instruments and the codification of the ICF Activity and Participation domains with the Pfeffer Index. From the analysis of the ICF and the Pfeffer Index, an instrument was developed covering the relationship between them, described by the domains of Activity and Participation. Each of the 10 Pfeffer Index questions referred to 6 ICF subdomains. The Pfeffer Index alternatives were compared to the ICF qualifiers, bringing a difference of 10 points between them. The research showed that the application of the ICF complemented the Pfeffer Index and this correlation between the assessment instruments expressed the importance of data on the characteristics of the elderly's social life, mobility and functionality.
