Excessive technology use can hinder the development of social skills, as in-person interactions are increasingly replaced by virtual ones. This study aimed to explore the relationship between technological dependency and social skills among university students, focusing on the patterns of technology use and evaluating their social competencies. The sample consisted of 40 students from the Centro Universitário do Pará (Cesupa). Data collection involved a questionnaire, the Internet Addiction Test (used to measure technological dependency), and the Social Skills Inventory 2 (IHS 2). A quantitative analysis was conducted to assess statistical differences across groups. The findings revealed a correlation between technological dependency and social skills among the students, indicating that excessive technology use negatively impacts daily activities and social interactions due to deficiencies in essential social skills.Item Podcast como recurso para orientação de pais sobre estilos parentais(Centro Universitário do Estado do Pará, 2023) Medeiros, Mariana Bouth de; Moreira, Jenifer Leda Muniz; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0704977947359760This work aims to develop a product in podcast format with informative and guiding content on parenting styles, to assist parents and caregivers in their educational practices with their children. Each episode consists of a) introduction and opening: where the narrator makes her presentation and that of the subject that is addressed in the episode; b) a brief story/dialogue of characters: in which a parent-child interaction is presented, illustrating the subject that is addressed in the episode; c) theoretical information: presentation of information and guidelines on the subject, based on the references consulted; and d) closing: presentation of a general orientation or a homework assignment to be carried out spontaneously by those who are interested. At the end of the work, it is expected that caregivers will be able to have contact with information about parenting styles and know that there are more appropriate ways for their practices in the education of their children.Item Relação entre estresse parental e habilidades sociais de crianças com altas habilidades(Centro Universitário do Estado do Pará, 2024-09-04) Quintela, Luana Nahum; Crispino, Rafael Ferreguete; Cruz, Edson Júnior Silva da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0227617708373838; Cunha, Manoella Canaan Carvalho Cleophas; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6218433169817070; Moreira, Jenifer Leda Muniz; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0704977947359760The present research addresses the topic of giftedness in children, highlighting the complexity of these characteristics, which encompass above-average abilities, task commitment, and creativity. The study explored the relationship between parental stress and the social skills of these children, recognizing that children with giftedness often face emotional and behavioral challenges. A survey methodology was employed with a convenience sampling, applying three self-report instruments to investigate sociodemographic characteristics, children’s social skills, and parental stress. The study was disseminated in online groups for parents of gifted children and included the participation of 35 parents who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The results indicated a moderate correlation between children’s social skills and parental stress, with no significant correlation between these factors and sociodemographic variables. It was concluded that behavioral factors in these children, such as overexcitability, may contribute to increased parental stress, although further research is needed to better understand the correlation between these factors.
