This study addresses the importance of preventing these adverse events and highlights the fundamental role of nursing in this process. Initially, risk factors associated with falls in the elderly are discussed, including muscle weakness, imbalance, vision problems, and medication use. Subsequently, prevention strategies are presented, such as environmental modifications, strengthening and balance exercises, medication review, and the use of assistive devices. The main focus of this research is on the educational potentialities for nursing in preventing falls and fractures in the elderly. Various educational approaches are explored, such as health education programs, training sessions for the elderly and caregivers, and printed or digital educational materials. It is emphasized the importance of adapting these strategies to the specific needs of the elderly population and the care context. It is concluded by highlighting the relevance of nursing engagement in preventing falls and fractures in the elderly, emphasizing the importance of effective, evidence-based educational approaches to maximize the impact on the health and quality of life of this vulnerable population.
