    Restabelecimento da dimensão vertical de oclusão em paciente com overbite acentuado: relato de caso

    Objective: To report a case of oral rehabilitation of a patient with severe loss of vertical dimension of occlusion caused by posterior dental element loss. Case report: A 62-year-old female patient presented to the clinic of the University Center of the State of Pará (CESUPA). The patient reported dissatisfaction with her smile. Clinical examination showed marked midline diastema and alteration of the vertical dimension of occlusion caused by the absence of posterior dental elements. Conclusion: This report illustrates another case of oral rehabilitation in which it was possible to increase the patient’s vertical dimension of occlusion, through semi adjustable articulator with intra oral registration protruding the jaw, bringing facial harmony, aesthetics, and chewing function.
