On the other hand, these microorganisms can cause cutaneomucosal and systemic infections in humans. Brazil has a wide variety of plants and among them we can find red guava or Psidium guajava. Studies have revealed that P. guajava leaf extract has antifungal activity on Candida spp and concluded that the use of its extract is easy to access and low cost to the population, however it is still being neglected when it comes to oral health.
